Autumn Photoshoot

Autumn Photoshoot

Rachael on 23rd Nov 2022

The Herefordshire countryside has some wonderful gems and for our autumn photoshoot we were offered the use of the beautiful Burton Court near Leominster. It is a gorgeous Grade II* Listed building with a variety of styles and elements from a fourteenth century great hall to much later Victorian and Edwardian influences. We were allowed almost free range of the house and grounds to work with and it was great fun trying to find perfect locations for our shots.

The morning dawned somewhat cold and windy, with the dreaded forecast of rain due at any moment. We arrived bright and early, with some of our team immediately heading out to scout locations with the photographer; Naomi, and the rest of us fetching the shirts and other clothing out of the van ready for our model and the day ahead. With introductions made, and the threat of rain looming over us we decided to head outside first, before retreating indoors if, and when the weather broke.

Woosnam Shirt

Our first location on the list was the house’s front steps, a true classic style image featuring our soft touch, brushed cotton Woosnam shirt and Barbour wax jacket. Alongside our human model we had a couple of adorable dogs to work with – and, with a little bit of bribery and some well-timed photography work from our photographer, the dogs look like perfect angels.

Eastnor V Neck in Wine

The next location was a stunning classic Land Rover, parked half way down the long drive. Once again, we worked with both the dogs and our human model; Luke, before the dogs headed off home for a well-earned rest! It was fascinating to see how a model and photographer team works together almost seamlessly, managing to swiftly take a variety of different photos which can either give off similar feels, or something completely contrasting with just a few different movements, angles, and slight change of location around the Land Drover. Here we can see our model showing off the Eastnor V Neck in wine.

Netherton Zip Neck in Mallard

After the Land Rover we continued our whistle stop tour and moved into the garden. Unfortunately, the garden wasn’t able to give us the right vibe we were aiming to achieve (it was too pretty!) and we found somewhere a little more rough and tumble – an old workshop, where Luke was able to model the Netherton Zip Neck in mallard blue.

Nunnington Shirt

As the only flannel shirt in our collection, we wanted to spend a little bit of time focusing on the Nunnington and its versatility. While all of our shirts are great for both office/day to evening wear, the Nunnington in particular is perfect for this and we really wanted to show this off, with two quite different shots and styles. The first very much with a country vibe, and the second with an urban casual style – the shirt worn over an R.M Williams tee.

Whitestone Shirt and Navy Eastnor

Our last planned outdoor shots before lunch and heading inside, took us down the lane trying to find the perfect gate and hedgerow. Which we find, as well as a field full of photogenic cows, well mostly photogenic. These photos show off the soft cotton Whitestone shirt and the Eastnor V Neck in navy.

Withington Shirt

After lunch and raiding the tub of celebrations, next on the cards was the indoor portion of the shoot, with some group shots with our two other models. We had great fun positioning lights, to help enhance the limited natural light, and all three of our models working out how to play chess with a stunning chess board.

Woosnam, Frost and Sutton Shirts

Our last port of call before the final shot of the day, took us to the bar which was amazing! It was like a mini pub complete with fully stocked taps and bar – of course we had to have a pub dog who was well behaved and snoozing under the table.

Withington, Mordiford and Frost Shirts

Overall, the day was extremely interesting and a lot of fun – although a little chilly! Getting to watch a professional photographer work their magic was amazing! Managing to make it look like the model was birdwatching in the middle of the English countryside, while in fact it was a small rise behind the house. One of my highlights of the day was our model learning to chop wood for a shot – which he did spectacularly by the end! And, we managed to get shots of all our shirts and jumpers from the new season.
